Really great story! I cried with you about the guy memorializing his dead friend. We can only hope to love people on this Earth who love us back quite so fiercely as he did. Thank you for sharing this. ❤️
You're very welcome. If you can write with that kind of power and vivid emotional force, you're better than 95% of people trying to do it (including a lot of respected and successful authors).
One reviewer of Fitzgerald's first ("This Side of Paradise," 1920) wrote "Mr. Fitzgerald's novel fails almost every literary test, except the most vital: it does not fail to live."
Next time try the lamb and rice from a halal street vendor. But it's the same deal as dollar slices of pizza. You have to find your spot, not all street vendors or pizza places are created equal. You can get a good lamb and rice for $7 or you can get a nasty lamb and rice for $20. NYC is all about knowing your spots. West Harlem is nice. I used to live near there by 139th street and Frederick Douglass Blvd. Chinese food is another tough nut to crack. Find your spot. Same goes with bodegas.
I've been a few times. Not since covid though and I love it there. Hope to be back soon. Now is see why you asked me if I liked the pizza lol. I didn't have that experience you had w it haha

This is the best thing I've read in a long while. It's absolutely bursting with life and feeling. Please keep this up.
I'm sorry if this comment comes off as in any way patronizing!
Not at all! Thank you for the kind words 😀

Good call! Next time I'm definitely going to venture beyond the pizza.
